Sigríður Oddný Jónsdóttir

I paint the places I carry with me.

I am an Icelandic artist, and much of my work grows from the landscapes, small villages, houses and quiet moments that have stayed with me throughout my life.

I am drawn to the feeling of a place rather than simply its appearance — the light over the sea, the rhythm of houses along the shore, a distant mountain, or the quiet feeling of coming home.

Through simplified forms, colour and gentle movement, I create my own painted world — a place where landscape and memory meet.

My hope is that my paintings bring a little calm into the homes they become part of, and that each person who lives with one finds something of their own story within it.

Exhibitions and Collections

I have held numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions throughout Iceland. My work is represented in private collections in many countries and has found homes with collectors both in Iceland and abroad.
